Letting Go To Hold On
When we decide to escape our emotional and mental conditions,
it is more of a letting go than a forcing out.
We do not need to push through, or fight harder, or resist more,
all we need,
is the willingness,
to let,
go.
Let go of the fear.
Let go of the worry.
Let go of the anxiety.
Once we let go, we are free to hold on to faith, hope, and courage.
Help Them Know You
People choose what they know.
Everyone will hang out with those they connect with.
Everyone will buy the products they are familiar with.
Everyone supports what they are comfortable supporting.
People choose to spend time with those they know.
Seeding Our Hearts
Whatever seeds we plant in our minds grow into the garden that creates our hearts.
Everything starts as a mental condition before it is woven into the fabric of our character.
Happiness, suffering, joy, peace, hope, fear, sorrow, gratitude, grief, and love are all seeds of thought that were allowed to grow into feelings.
Getting There
Hope and ambition take us where we want to go.
Commitment and focus keep us there.
Un-Justified
Needing to explain and justify why we don’t do what we are supposed to do is the ultimate sign of lack of courage, feeble-mindedness, low discipline, and weakness of character.
We Are All Weak
We are all weak.
We all have weaknesses.
Weakness is not a character flaw unless we give in permanently.
When we make covenants and commitments and choose to permanently break them,
then we are choosing weakness, and that becomes part of our character.
Hope, Gratitude, Happiness, Joy
Hope is an accelerant. When gratitude is practiced, then happiness is created. Add in hope and that is what ignites true joy.
Hearing Painful Truth
Whenever we hear truth that goes against our current belief system, and especially truth that shows us what we are not doing right or are actually doing wrong, our instant reaction is revolt. We deny. We justify. We make exceptions to the “truth” or rule.
Yet, this is the first step.
This awareness that we are rejecting truth allows us to begin asking the right questions:
- Why am I revolting?
- Why is it so hard to hear?
- Why do I feel attacked?
Once we can honestly ask those questions, we can begin to examine, study, ponder, pray, and change.
