The journey of happiness requires true detachment, the right kind of detachment. Detachment from things we cannot control. If we can fully detach, then happiness is always in reach.
Regret is pain in the past.
Longing is good in the past.
Grief is pain in the present.
Joy is good in the present.
Fear is pain in the future.
Lust / Desire is good in the future.
Bad people make bad choices.
Good people make bad choices.
Bad people don’t fix the problems they create.
Good people fix the problems they create.
If we have to rely on other people pushing us, we will never fulfill our potential.
We need to push ourselves…
Internal pushing works, external pushing doesn’t.
Discipline beats willpower.
Willpower beats inspiration.
Inspiration beats motivation.
Motivation beats apathy.
Apathy kills potential.
Potential is made real and brought to life with discipline.
Learning doesn’t mean always winning, it means knowing how to win if required because of the losses.
The easiest and fastest path to anxiety is wrong thinking. When we think about stuff we cannot control we engage in wrong thinking. We hurt ourselves the more we worry about things that we cannot control.
What we need and want comes at a price.
Often, the price we are required to pay is the one cost we do not want to part with.
Usually that is patience, or hard work, or discipline, or courage, or compassion, or selflessness.
Discomfort is a signal of change.
Change you are currently making, or change you need to make.
Either way, embrace the discomfort so you can adapt appropriately.
