Character is built. Character is not innate, it is not in-born. Character comes from our values and beliefs and how committed we are to manifesting them with our physical actions. With every situation we are in, we get the chance to build our character. We choose the material (truth or lies, kindness or selfishness, work or laziness, humility or pride) we build with.

When you care enough, you are enough.

When you care enough, they will be enough.

When you care enough, there is always enough.

Awareness helps you decide a course of action.

Action creates outcomes.

Analysis of the outcomnes helps you create better awareness for next time.

As long as you always make sure there is a next time, you are still in the game, you are still growing, still improving.

If someone has been down the road you are on, ask them for their ideas and listen to their experience.

When someone is an expert, trust their wisdom.

We all must learn and earn to gain our own knowledge, but our growth is accelerated when we trust those who have finished what we are just starting.

It takes humility to admit our own situation isn’t so unique that we have nothing to learn from others. General truth is far more important than specific excuses.

The opposite is pride and is evident when we trust our own ideas over those who have the expertise, knowledge, wisdom, and experience to help us be better.

What we think determines what we feel which determines what we do.

Wrong-thinking leads to wrong-actions.

As our thinking gets corrected (by deliberate learning or necessity) so does our behavior.

With proper behavior, we can accomplish our goals and fulfill our potential.

 

Our lives can only be told as our story. To take the story out of our experience removes all context and meaning. Our stories can be written any way we choose, and more importantly, our stories can be told any way we choose. How we choose to tell our story in the present has a much bigger effect on what happens next than how we have told our story in the past. As we change our present story to match our future goals, our future changes right before our eyes – for everyone to see.

If they are worth it to you, and you show it — they will find a way to show you why you believe in them.

Encouragement goes a long way.

The more responsibility you take on, the more meaning you find.

All relationship problems are communication problems expressed as pride.

If both sides are willing, all communication problems can be solved with love expressed as care.

Logic and reason can justify and validate any “personal revelation.” The problem is that when this revelation is counter to truth, all the logic is actually just a lie. The real confusion comes when we try to rationalize our feelings and desires and then label them as personal truth. While truth can be found personally, truth doesn’t change, and therefore when individual truth goes against eternal truth, there is misalignment. Without alignment, there is always confusion.
