Vision: 4 Steps of Great Leadership

Leadership is about helping others.

First, help them see the solution (create a clear vision). 

Second, provide a process.

Third, give them the tools they need to accomplish the vision.

Fourth, encourage them so they have the confidence to achieve their potential, as it aligns with the vision. 

Examine Your Feelings

Feelings are feelings. 

They are not actions, and do not need to control our actions. 

In order to understand ourselves and our feelings we need to first examine what we are feeling and why. 

Examining why we feel a certain way allows us to distance ourselves from the feelings and regain control of our actions. 

Victim or Participant?

While not easy to admit or understand, once you are an adult:

  • Physical abuse has victims.
  • Mental and emotional abuse has participants. 

You cannot control if and when you are physically abused. 

Emotional and mental abuses can be stopped, avoided, and controlled by the boundaries you set, your internal beliefs, and the actions you permit.

A players don’t need to be told HOW to do their job. 

B players do. 

A players have potential left and work to capitalize on it. 

B players have the right experience but never realize their potential.
